Meet the Member: Steve Dickinson

Meet the Member Steve Dickinson

In this blog post, we learn a little bit more about Steve Dickinson, a long-standing and valued member of the Thurrock Network Group. Steve brings a wealth of knowledge and experience both to our online meetings and to the Facebook group, and he never fails to captivate us with his interesting stories.

Here’s a little insight into Steve:

I guide my clients away from stress and anxiousness (that costs them wasted time and money) towards a charismatic confidence that increases happiness, resilience, and personal productivity.

With a simple to understand principle-based psychology along with proven business templates, a person can achieve more with less effort and create the kind of success that is perfect for who they are and how they want to live.

After experiencing the transformational benefits of principal-based psychology during some personal development training, I realised how unhappy I was in the corporate world.  As a senior training consultant, I thought my life would be more enjoyable if, rather than endless boardrooms and data centres, I helped other people reach their innate potential.

Helping someone who had crippling anxiety about public speaking.  In fact, she once drove past a venue because she was too frightened of going in and doing a one-minute presentation.  After 6 weeks of working with me, she became a keynote speaker at one of those same events.

Make sure that your business aligns with your personal values so that it is something that you will find fulfilling and fun.  Learn thinking frameworks and mental models that make business prototyping, decision-making, and communication enjoyable.  Concentrate on building relationships within your community such that you become seen as a key person of influence as you help the people around you.

I enjoy writing music and playing the guitar, drums, keyboards, and harmonica.  My other hobbies are sleight-of-hand magic and Ving Tsun Kung Fu.

The group members have a huge amount of business experience, are fun to be with, and are very supportive.

Learn how to describe what you do in just 20 seconds.  Also, say it in such a way that a 12 year old child could understand it.  In addition, get good at public speaking.
