Netwalking by the River

Often when running a business, the last thing you have time for is looking after your own health.  That is why Thurrock Network Group in association with Tai Chi for Health (Essex) are promoting netwalking. Combining the opportunity to network with a free 30-minute health walk.

So, what is Netwalking?

Netwalking combines networking and walking. It is a great way to connect with other like-minded business owners in an informal, friendly and relaxed environment. You can think, chat, bounce ideas and develop business relationships while enjoying the fresh air, invigorating walks and amazing views.

Our first netwalking event was held on Thursday 18 July prior to the normal networking meeting and was led by Trevor Rawson of Tai Chi for Health (Essex).

With a lovely, warm and sunny start to the morning, a variety of businesses headed towards the riverfront in Grays. The light breeze was very welcoming! We stopped by the Yacht Club and looking out towards the river Trevor conducted a Tai Chi taster session with the group.

With the sun shining and the sounds of the water in the background, it certainly created a very calming environment. We even attracted a few members of the public who joined in! The weather and participants certainly made this an enjoyable experience and I am looking forward to the next one.

A BBC Essex reporter had also joined us for netwalking and interviewed Trevor and me for the breakfast show. That was fun!

With everyone feeling relaxed, we returned to the Thurrock Learning shop to commence with our network meeting. We also had Andy Millard from Thurrock Council give a presentation to the businesses on planning and transportation around Grays and Thurrock.
